The KSU Capital Area Alumni Club, Inc. has created two awards in order to recognize alumni for their service and life values. These awards are presented at the annual spring dinner.

• The Jon Wefald Meritorious Service Award was created to honor individuals who excel in their life by utilizing the skills and values they learned as a Wildcat in Manhattan, Kansas. Through their success here in the Capital area region, they not only bring credit to themselves and the Capital Area Alumni Club, but they also further the reputation of their alma mater, Kansas State University.

• The Morton Smutz Memorial Award for Meritorious Leadership in K-State Alumni Activities was created to honor individuals who dedicate themselves to improving the quality of life of their fellow Kansas State University alumni in the Washington, D.C. area by providing programming, activities and, most importantly, leadership in K-State activities.
